EARLY BIRD JUDO
Early Bird Judo is offered four (4) days a week, Tuesday through Friday, 5:30 AM - 7:00 AM, to serious competitors and dedicated Judoka 13 years and older who want to fine-tune their techniques & fight strategies, or work on agility, strength & conditioning. This program is available free of charge to dojo members who enroll in the Senior Class Unlimited class offering. Non-members can choose the pay-as-you-go option by paying drop-in fees.

Early Bird Judo targets the following personas:

Working adults or college students who want to put in some workout before heading to work/school

Working adults who are unable to attend some evening classes due to long commute/life events

Dedicated competitors who want more training sessions to prepare for tournaments

Students who struggle with mastering their techniques (tachiwaza or newaza) in regular evening class and need more time and 1:1 attention in small(er) group setting
Early Bird Judo activities include but are not limited to:

Instructions or deep-dive into finer details of certain Judo techniques, if necessary

Open mat for advanced students (green belt and higher)

Agility/strength/conditioning drills

Uchikomi to build muscle memory, speed, timing, and strength

Nagekomi to practice breaking balance, entering, and completing the technique on a partner with a focus on muscle memory and finishing mechanics
Rules for Early Bird Judo:

Early Bird Judo is offered to both members and non-members. Non-members or visitors must have USJA, USJF, USA Judo, AJJF, ATJA, or Judo Canada membership. Proof of current membership required upon first visit.

For members/students under 18 years of age, an adult guardian or parent must be present for the entire lesson.

Early Bird Judo may be recorded (audio and video) for instructional purposes and NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION.
